Why Choose Cyprus

The Smart Choice for an EU Degree

Cyprus punches far above its size — an EU member state offering world-recognised degrees, English-taught programs, and a cost of living that's a fraction of Western Europe.

🇪🇺

EU-Recognised Degree

Cyprus is a full European Union member. Your degree is valid across all 27 EU countries and globally recognised by employers and academic institutions worldwide — the same standing as a German or French university degree.

💶

Affordable Tuition

At €3,500–8,000 per year, Cyprus offers the most budget-friendly EU university education available to Nepali students. Compare this to €10,000–25,000+ per year in Germany, France, or the Netherlands for similar EU-accredited degrees.

☀️

Mediterranean Lifestyle

330 sunny days per year, beautiful beaches, rich history as the birthplace of Aphrodite, and a safe, welcoming culture. Cyprus consistently ranks among the safest countries in Europe with one of the lowest crime rates on the continent.

🇬🇧

English-Speaking Island

English is widely spoken and effectively the second official language of Cyprus. Most university programs are entirely delivered in English, making the transition seamless for Nepali students — no language barrier, no language course prerequisite.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Studying in Cyprus

Yes — Cyprus joined the European Union in 2004. Your degree from a Cypriot university is an EU-accredited degree, recognised in all 27 EU member states and globally. This is the major advantage of studying in Cyprus vs. other affordable destinations. The same EU accreditation framework that governs German, French, or Dutch universities applies to Cypriot universities.
Absolutely. English is effectively the second official language — it's widely spoken in business, education, and daily life. Most university programs run entirely in English. This makes Cyprus very accessible for Nepali students without the need to learn a new language. You'll find English used in supermarkets, banks, hospitals, government offices, and social settings across the island.
Cyprus is one of the safest countries in Europe with an extremely low crime rate. It's a small island (about 800,000 people) with a tight-knit, friendly community. Nepali students report feeling very welcome and safe. The island is ranked consistently in the top 5 safest countries in Europe by the Global Peace Index. University campuses have active international student communities.
Cyprus has a relatively straightforward student visa process. Nepali students need a Type D National Visa before entry (via VFS Global, processed through the Cypriot Embassy in India). After arrival, you register for a Temporary Residence Permit at the Civil Registry and Migration Department. EVEC manages the complete documentation package for you, with a strong track record of successful applications.
Cyprus is an EU member but not part of the Schengen Area — so you'll need a Schengen visa to visit mainland Europe. However, the Cypriot student permit plus a separate Schengen visa application is very manageable. Short flights connect Cyprus to Athens (90 min), London (4.5 hrs), Dubai (3.5 hrs), and all major European hubs. Cheap carriers like Ryanair and EasyJet serve Larnaca regularly.
Cyprus has a growing fintech, shipping, and professional services sector. Limassol is rapidly becoming a major European fintech hub with major companies like eToro, as well as numerous crypto and blockchain businesses. Tourism and hospitality are also major employers. Some international graduates stay on work permits in Cyprus, while others leverage their EU degree to find employment across Europe — a key career advantage of studying in an EU member state.
